Assessment of minimum flow in Vietnam

Abstract

    In Vietnam, the minimum flow is defined in the Decrees and the Water Resources Law. This flow has to be maintained at downstream of irrigation and hydropower projects. However, the conceps and methods to identify the minimum flow have been understood differrently. This paper gives general formulars for the minimum flow as defined by the 2012 Water Resources Law and proposes component assessement methods which are applied for 12 river sections in Vietnam.
