Frame work for promotion of farmer's participation in the irrigation management, a case study in the Red river delta

Abstract

    This study considers irrigation performance of selected secondary canals under different conditions of water resources acquisition, irrigation facilities. The results show that, the irrigation performance of jointly managed secondary canals is not remarkably different. Whereas, the similar indicators analyzed for only farmer managed canal are more higher than that of other jointly managed canals. Framework for promotion of farmers' participation in irrigation management was proposed after analyzing correlation between socio-economic characteristics and selected irrigation performance indicators.
