RCC dam achievements and the application proposal for our country

Abstract

     Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) is a kind of ultra-dry concrete that is compacted by vibrating roller. RCC has properties of normal concrete, so, it also has specific properties. Up to day, many of RCC dams have been constructed in the World. Technology of RCC dam has obtained the large achievements as United State, Japan, China and Brazil etc. The difficulties of design, RCC material, construction technology, quality Control etc...have been solved and getting the large achievements. This paper introduces the RCC dam development in the World as well as in Vietnam, some studied results of RCC materials in several countries. The author makes some application proposals for building RCC dams in Vietnam.
