Abstract

This paper presents the simulation results of the triaxial tests under the CW condition on compacted silt specimens at the maximum dry density and optimum water content. The theoretical framework for simulating of the triaxial tests under the CW condition was based on the elastoplastic model with the incorporation of soilwater characteristic curve (SWCC). The shear strength, excess porewater pressure and volume change during shearing under the constant water content conditions were simulated using the proposed elastoplastic model. The simulation results show the good agreement between the simulated using proposed equations and the experimental results.
