A study of some oriented solutions to reduce the flooding situation in the upstream area of Phan-Ca Lo river, Vinh Phuc
Abstract
Phan River is a branch of Ca Lo River with the length of 60 km, located on the right side of Ca Lo River. Every year in rainy season, the upstream area of Phan-CaLo River is flooded. This causes a significant losses of agriculture production. In this paper, MIKE 11 (DHI) is applied to study some oriented sollutions to reduce the flooding sistution for this area in rainy season. Four options have been studied. The results show that the combination of pumping water to Red River and constructing a sluice at Ca Lo River mouth is the most effective drainage solution for this area.
