The difficulties of management, exploitment hydraulic works of Mekong delta and alternative solutions

Abstract

      Hydraulic works play a very importance role in socioeconomic development of Mekong delta. Hydraulic work systems here have their own specificity: interlacing natural canasl, speading over provincal boundary, lack of control works available in the systems, and most Irrigation systems are affected by tidal.Ư

       However, the management and exploiiment hydraulic works here are still inadequate and not united between provinces. This article shows the causes, difficulties of management and exploitment hydraulic works and proposes alternative solutions to approach substainability in Mekong delta.
