Abstract

    Based on the principle of dynamic programming algorith, this article presents the researchresults on developing algorithmofoptimal two-dimensional dynamic programming (DP-DP) to calculate the optimal operation of cascade hydropowersystem. This algorith uses spatial and temporal state variables to optimize spatial nodes simultaneously.This modelallows to reducecomputedtime compared with the usual dynamic programming.TheSon La and Hoa Binh cascade hydropower reservoirs were selected as case study.Resultsshows that DP-DP model developed in this study is dependable.
