An innovation of timoshenko method to apply for analyzing elastic stability of a compressed bar
Abstract
This paper presents an innovative of Timoshenko method for determining critical buckling load of a compressed bar. The idea of the proposed algorithm is based on combining the classic criterion (the least mean square error criterion) and the standard methods of strength of materials for determining the deflection functions by loops, which means one - one relation of critical load and the deflection. The first numerical results show that the proposed algorithm gives more accurate solutions than that of the sucessive aproximations method and the difference methods.
