Researching boundary conditions of signals for penstock valve emergency closure device

Abstract

    Hydropower in Vietnam has enormous potential. Recently, many hydropower stations have been built with wide variety scales. One of the main structures of hydropower stations is the penstock with valve at its inlet. This valve is primarily operated for checking or maintaining the penstock. In reality, it must require to operate the penstock valve as an emergency valve to minimize damages in emergency closure. In this research, based on studying different operation regimes, especially transitive regimes, the authors set up the boundary condition of signals to control emergency closure device of the penstock valve.
