Application of dynamic planning algorithms and irregular grid division to build an ensure power generation region for terraced hydropower plants

Abstract

In order to exploit optimally hydropower sources, a number of hydropower plants are built at favourable places and terraced form. And sometimes the reservoir water level of below plants is higher than mean downstream water level of the upper plants. Determining the variable trajectory of the safe zone for electricity generation for two terraced hydropower plants on the same river is the main object of this study. The irregular meshing method and dynamic planning algorithm for design-years are applied to better determine the range of ensure power generation zones of terraced hydropower plants. The two calculated terraced hydropower plants are Pleikrong and Ialy on the Se San River.
