Abstract

This paper presents research results of procedure and calculated program to estimate Z~ F and Z~V relationship for reservoirs in hard-collected information regions from DEM. The results Z~ F and Z~V calculated from DEM for PleiKrong and Se San 4 reservoirs were assessed as good as them from designed document. The procedure was then used to calculate Z~ F and Z~V for some reservoirs in the Mekong River Basin such as Nam Theun reservoir in Laos, Jinghong and Nuazhadu reservoirs in China. With Z~F~V calculated from DEM, we can monitor reservoir storage with satellite images. The water levels and volumes of reservoirs can be estimated and monitored for warning and forecasting water resouces coming to the Cuu Long Delta of Vietnam for adaptation plans to drought and salinity intrusion.
