Abstract

Soil erosion is considered to be the cause of serious land degradation in the mountainous north of Vietnam. This study has proposed the equation of soil erosion prediction of agricultural production activities in the Northern mountainous region based on the adjustment of the erosion coefficient due to
crop of The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The proposed equation has overcome the limitations due to the lack of coverage distribution of crops, arrangement of crop structure (monoculture, rotation, intercropping), rainfall, cultivation techniques in comparing with conventional methods. The values of
the correlation coefficient R of the conventional and proposed predictive methods are 0.69 and 0.8, respectively, and Root mean square error (RMSE) is 82.09 and 11.01, respectively
