Abstract
The morphology changing process of an estuary is essential information for planning strategies of water resources management. In the context of sea level rise (SLR), the hydrodynamic mode and transportation of sediment at the estuaries also changed, as a result it leads to a change in the source of
sediment from upstream to the sea. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of SLR on redistribution of sediment resources in different areas at the Soai Rap estuary. Telemac-Sisyphe- Tomawac mathematical modeling method, in which transportation of sediment with mixed sediment characteristics (mix-sediment) was used in this study. The scenarios of SLR + 0.0 m (base scenario), SLR + 0.5 m, SLR + 1.0 m were proposed to forecast the process of sediment transportation. The results of simulation after one year show that, compared to the base scenario, for zone KV1, the total amount of sediment decreases by –579.103 m3 (12.8%) SLR +0.5 m, –913.103 m3 (-35%) SLR +1.0 m; for zone KV2, the change is not significant; for KV3, the total amount of sediment increases by 3.5*106 m3 (10%) SLR + 0.5 m, 6.9*103 m6 (20%) SLR + 1.0 m.
