Estimation boundary between river dike and estuary dike of the Ba river, Phu Yen province

Abstract

River dike and estuary dike play an important role to protect local communities living behind the dike, but loads impact on each type of dike are different, especially design water level. For river dike, the design water level is often calculated based on river discharge from upstream, meanwhile, for estuary dike, the design water level only only depend on river discharge but also tidal variation from the sea. This paper presents study on calculation boundary between river dike and estuary dike of the Ba river, the Phu Yen province, based on hydrodynamic approach of interaction between river and sea computation using hydraulics modelling Mike 11.
