A method of determining elevation of the bottom of drinage pumping station outlet

Abstract

This paper presents a method of determining elevation of the bottom of drainage pumping station outlet that is based on the theory of systems analysis and optimization. In the method, the objective function is the lowest total cost, C_tot → Min. As a validation, the method was applied for a drainage pumping station in Hanoi, Vietnam. This method should be used in the design of drainage pumping stations where the occurrence frequencies of flood in river and storm in the drainage basin are different.
