The determination of hydraulic parameters in experimental research for double layer flip bucket structure applying in spillway in the middle river
Abstract
Design of spillway locating in middle of river having flow connection between spill body and energy dissipator in kind of flip bucket is depending on various factor such as discharge, velocity, depth of downstream flow, topographic and geological condition at downstream of spillway. Hence, design of flip bucket's structure requires satisfying rational economic and technical conditions. For hydraulics, it is required the longest ski flow with conforming to bed material at downstream and pressure in flip has to be lowered critical negative pressure value of which cavitation can not appear in surface of flip and depth of downstream scouring pool is minimum. Up to present, the formula is not available for calculation while selecting sustainable double flip bucket structure but having to conduct in hydraulic model research. The paper is to present hydraulic model tests for determination of hydraulic parameters in order to choose structure of double layer (slotted) flip bucket applying in spillway locating in middle of river.
