Double packer grouting for dike foundation treatment against permeability

Abstract

    The paper presents the analysis of engineering geological conditions, the development and causes of seepage failure in dike foundations at two typical locations of Red river dike system and La river dike system. The paper also presents the application results of the double packer grouting technique for dike foundation treatment. Thereby, it shows that the double packer grouting technique is an effective solution of seepage treatment for granular soil and appropriate for dike foundation. However, this technique has not been applied widely.
