Abstract

The Red River Delta has a rich history and unique culture, which is the cradle of many traditional games and folk performances imbued with national traditions. However, in the process of integration and modernization of the country, many traditional cultural values, including folk games and performances, are gradually fading away, posing a great challenge to the preservation and promotion of cultural values. In that context, exploiting the values of folk games and performances for tourism development not only contributes to diversifying tourism products, but also supports the preservation of traditional cultural values. This article employed field survey method, sociological investigation, synthesis analysis and consulting with experts to identify folk games and performances that can be exploited for tourism development, thereby proposing a number of routes for exploiting folk games and performances, contributing to the tourism development in the Red River Delta.
