Abstract
The development of cooperative economics, particularly agricultural cooperatives, enables farming households to expand their scale and enhance competitiveness and improve their lives. This study aims to analyze the development of agricultural cooperatives in Thuan Chau district, Son La province by examining their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges. The authors employs a qualitative approach, including field surveys and semi-structured interviews with 24 representatives of cooperatives, local authorities, and residents. The research findings indicate that agricultural cooperatives in Thuan Chau significantly contribute to socio-economic development, and promote sustainable agricultural production. However, these cooperatives still face several challenges, such as limited capital, restricted market access, low management capacity, and and underutilization of available support resources. To improve performance, appropriate solutions are needed, including financial support policies, capacity development for cooperative management, and the expansion of product distribution channels..
