DETERMINATION OF FUNCTIONS OF SUB-REGIONS FOR NATURAL RESOURCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF PHU THO PROVINCE

Abstract

Based on the result of functional zoning of Phu Tho province territory, which is divided into 2 regions with 10 sub-regions, the study analyzed the basic characteristics of the sub-regions, identified and evaluated the economic, ecological and social functions of each sub-region by using Niemann’s ecological functional classification system (1977). The result of this research provides a scientific basis to propose the territorial framework of Phu Tho province, including 8 priority spaces for development, appropriate use of natural resources and environment in the direction of sustainable development.
