ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING CAGE FISH FARMING IN HOA BINH HYDROPOWER RESERVOIR

Abstract

Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir has a large water surface area, so it has great potential for aquaculture development, especially cage fish farming. Research of the factors affecting cage fish farming in Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir, Hoa Binh province, was conducted in this study and was based on the analysis of construction scale using 5 independent variables, namely environmental conditions (EC), technical farming (TF), production costs (PC), breeding stock (BS), support policy (SP), and 17 component variables. The variable PC were found to have the highest normalized beta coefficient (0.582) and the greatest influence on cage fish productivity, followed by SP(0.387), EC (0.349), SP (0.387), TF (0.234), BS (0.198). The study also suggested some solutions related to techniques and policy planning to improve the efficiency of cage fish farming in Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir.
