Abstract

Landscape approach is a suitable tool for spatial orientation and building management models of resource, economic development and environmental protection. On the basis of research, analysis of characteristics, differentiation and functions of sea and island landscapes, combined with analysis of management tasks, this article builds a model of resource management and biodiversity associated with national defense tasks for Nam Yet island area. The model includes: strict biodiversity conservation zone; seaport subdivision and fishery logistics services; residential and living quarters of the sea and island protection force; zoning for arrangement of residential units; subdivision of distribution forces; subdivision to develop landscape and green environment of the island; subdivision and operational space of forces. This model is implemented by a unified management apparatus, assigning specific and clear tasks according to the requirements of building a defense area for the entire Truong Sa archipelago of Viet Nam.
