Abstract

Hoa Binh hydropower plant is one of the prime constructions of Viet Nam in the past century. In order to create a unique tourism product for Hòa Bình reservoir area, and showcasing the benefits of building and exploiting hydropower museums for tourism development in some countries around the world, this article proposes that a model of Hoa Binh hydropower establishment is showcased in a museum. The museum will be a place to showcase the features and benefits of the technology and knowledge in building and creating hydroelectric power. The museum's artifacts and displays will convey the meanings and values of the building to visitors through interactive experiences. The museum will be designed with 4 rooms: 1 hall with a common display, on both wings are 2 galleries introducing the hydroelectric industry in the world and Vietnam and 1 room for visitors to enjoy the experience via virtual reality. The hydropower museum located on Sung Island will create a highlight for the tourist area and add variety to the tourism offering in the Hoa Binh province.
