Abstract

Collective economic development, with the core being cooperatives, together with organic agriculture development is the major policies of the Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP) and State. In Hà Giang, the model of organic agricultural cooperatives is organized along the value chain between farmers and cooperatives, businesses. Especially the new model of cooperatives with the participation of many people, which has been contributing to raising incomes, improving the lives of farmers, improving product quality, protecting the ecological environment and creating a supply chain of products and goods for export. However, this model still reveals many limitations such as the loose linkages between farmers and cooperatives and businesses, the unsound position of farmers in linkages... In order to implement the policies of the VCP and the State in the spirit of the Resolution of the 5th Central Committee, term XIII of the VCP on the development of collective economy in the new context, it is necessary to institutionalize and promulgate separate mechanisms and policies for the development of organic agriculture; to raise awareness of farmers, enterprises and cooperatives; to develop and expand the cooperative model with the participation of many economic sectors.
