Abstract

Environmental security is always identified as a topical issue in terms of socio-economic development in the world in general and Vietnam in particular. The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the State always pay special attention to ensuring environmental security. This is also institutionalized in State policies and laws. However, along with socio-economic development and globalization, Vietnam's environmental security continues to be seriously threatened due to facing most challenges from climate change and pollution of water, land, air, deforestation and biodiversity loss. The origin of the above problems could originate from internal sources, or from abroad. Based on research on the viewpoints and guidelines of the CPV and the State's legal policies, this article recommends a number of solutions to contribute to the implementation and strengthening of environmental security in our country over the coming years.
