Tiềm năng phát triển kinh tế tuần hoàn trong ngành tái chế rác thải nhựa tại Việt Nam

Abstract
There is about 5.7 billion tons of plastic waste that has accumulated over the past 60 years,
and is globally floating in oceans, rivers and streams, or buried in landfills. Plastic packaging worth
80 - 120 billion USD/year is lost due to not being recycled globally. In Viet Nam, the number of used
plastic products is increasing, seriously threatening the land, water, air and ocean environment. It is
estimated that Viet Nam waste costs nearly3 billion USD/year, because it does not recycle all plastic
waste from daily plastic utilization. The potential for developing the recycled plastic industry in Viet
Nam is huge. If businesses can use recycled plastic materials at a rate of 35 - 50% per year, they can
reduce production costs by more than 15%. Despite so much potential, Viet Nam's plastic recycling
industry is still limited. To improve efficiency and develop plastic recycling activities in Vietnam, it
is necessary to synchronously implement solutions, especially policies to support businesses
participating in plastic recycling, towards a circular economy.
