Sức ép môi trường từ phát triển kinh tế - xã hội vùng kinh tế trọng điểm miền Trung

Abstract

The Central Key Economic Region was established with the goal of becoming a strong maritime economic center and a driving force for development for the entire North Central Region and the Central Coast of Viet Nam. To date, the region's socio-economic situation has made significant developments, focusing on marine tourism and eco-tourism; automobile manufacturi ng and assembly; petrochemical industry, defense industry; and seaport services. However, besideseconomic achievements, in the Central Key Economic Region, environmental challenges have arisen because the local socio-economic development pressures on the environment and the amount of solid waste, wastewater and emissions, that is increasingly generated, pollution due to industrial production, tourism, service activities. This is making the local environmental quality complex and uncontrolled. This article focuses on identifying environmental pressures, thereby serving as a basis for proposing solutions to control pollution and limit negative impacts from socio-economic activities on the environment in the Central Key Economic Regions.
