Abstract

Based on literature review of research results of the project “Sustainable agricultural ecological village, clean and safe production in Bac Kan province”, this article studies the current status of applying indigenous knowledge in preserving native plants and animals, and traditional farming techniques in agricultural production of the Tay people in Bac Kan province. This knowledge is not recorded and mainly passed down in the community through word of mouth and farming habits from generation to generation. The research results are the basis for proposing solutions to effectively preserve, conduct and promote the indigenous knowledge of the Tay people, combined with scientific and technical advances for a number of indigenous plant and animal varieties which are in danger of degradation and extinction.
