Abstract

Xuan Son National Park in Tan Son district, Phu Tho province has a total area of 15.048 hectares with 29 villages in the buffer zone. To effectively protect and promote the value of forests, the National Park Management Board has implemented many programs and projects to develop the economy in the buffer zone, contributing to improving people's livelihoods and reducing the poverty rate, to renew the rural landscapes; many localities in the buffer zone have achieved their goals of constructing new rural areas. However, in order to achieve the goals for sustainable forest management, Xuan Son National Park needs comprehensive management solutions combined with economic development of the buffer zone. By analyzing production activities of people and management activities of the National Park Management Board associated with economic development in the buffer zone, this article proposes some solutions with solution focus on sustainable livelihood development for people in the buffer zone, sustainable ecotourism development, financial resource mobilization for the improvement of socio-economic facilities.
