Abstract

Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark (Ha Giang province) with unique values of cultural heritage, geological heritage and biodiversity has been promoting tourism potential and contributing to socioeconomic development as well as increase of people’s income. Beside achievements such as increasing number of tourists, enhancing tourism destinations, sites, infrastructures and facilities, improving tourism revenue and income for residential community..., tourism development in Dong Van Karst Plateau still remains a number of limitations that need to be overcome. Based on the results of document synthesis of documens and field surveys, this article analyzed the situation and pointed out the difficulties and limitations of tourism development Dong Van Karst Plateau. Hence, some solutions contributing to the sustainable tourism development in the studied area are proposed with focus on the effective implementation of regional linkage; efficiency improvement of investment and tourism promotion; training tourism human resources along with upgradation and expansion of infrastructures and technical facilities for to
