Cybercrime of Vietnamese Banking Sector in the Context of Industrial Revolution 4.0: Fact Findings and Policy Implications

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 has profoundly and strongly affected all activities, but also created many challenges and risks. Cybercrimes, especially in the banking sector, tended to increase rapidly in both quantity and sophistication, which causes complication and some serious problems. However, the technology revolution also provides great opportunities for banks to take advantage for risk prevention and mitigation. The main purposes of this paper are to: (i) review the cybercrime of banking sector in the Industrial Revolution 4.0; (ii) analyze and assess the facts of cybercrime of Vietnamese banking sector; and (iii) propose some measures for preventing and solving the problems of cybercrime for the Vietnamese banking sector in the future.
