Singparore’s exeprience to attract FDI in R&D

Singapore is among few countries to successfully attract the FDI in R&D. As Vietnam moves closer to full global
integration, the emergence of FDI in R&D project is expected to transform Vietnam not only a major outsourcing
magnet but to create new scientific inventions. Consequently, it is necessary to study Singapore’s practice in
attracting FDI in R&D, which are valuable lessons for Vietnam. The paper will focus on how Singapore used policy
and intellectual property policy in attracting FDI into R&D.
