Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPP): Expectations and potential impacts on Vietnam

Abstract

    TPP is a high-standared trade agreement covering all domains, such as goods and services commerce, investment, intellectual property, labour, environment, government procurement, etc. Members of TPP expect that, with the high-quality model (the same as WTO+), the agreement would being sustainable benefit to member countries including Vietnam and at the same time help accelerating global liberalization. The articles cites out the main levels of commitment in the TPP, the expectations and chances, and the impacts - positive and negative - when Vietnam becomes a member of the TPP.
