Designing models applied in measuring competitiveness of garment firms in the key economic region of Central Vietnam

Abstract

   Based on a synthesis of theoretical models for measuring competitiveness, this paper makes an analysis of the advantages and challenges in application of each model. On the basis of the concept of firm competitiveness, the specific characteristics of the apparel sector and the ability to inherit from the previous theoretical model, a model of measuring the competitiveness of apparel firms have been preliminarily sketched. Combined with the results of experts opinions surveys done across the key economic region of Central Vietnam, the paper goes on to present detailed deployment of this model. The measuring model has been specified in the competitiveness indicators of apparel firms.
