Employing balance sheet approach and exploratory factor analysis to examine the financial instability of Vietnam

Abstract

This paper examines the financial instability of Vietnam using the balance sheet approach and exploratory factor analysis. We found that the deterioration in financial and non-financial sector balance sheets as well as fiscal deficit resulted in financial instability of Vietnam, thereby offering some suggestions to stabilize the Vietnamese financial system.
