The press and communication and the preservation, promotion of human rights

Abstract

Press freedom is a basic human rights, legally recognized and protected by nations; recorded in many documents of international organizations. The press and media take an important part and position in human rights defence, it is the role of social supervision, social critics, promote human rights through communication, education on human rights. In Vietnam, press freedom is defined in the Constitution and the State have created the essential legal framework for press operation. Our country's press have grown strongly in both quantity and quality, well promoting its role in protecting human rights.
