GENERATING NEW ARTIFICIAL ACCELERATIONS USING WAVELET TRANSFORM

Abstract

The dynamic analysis of earthquake resistant works requires a sufficient number of accelerations for earthquakes in accordance with specific conditions. Wavelet packet transform is an effective tool in creating new accelerations. This paper presents theoretical basis of wavelet packet transform and the algorithmic basis and the program to generate ground motions based on the 13-parameters correlation system using wavelet packet transform. This program may be a tool to create input data as an acceleration for dynamic analysis of earthquake structure.
