Abstract

This article describes the development of a computational model for determining the thermodynamic state after the detonation wave of a methane fuel mixture in a detonation engine. The model is based on the Chapman-Jouguet hypothesis and its results are compared to experimental data for methane-oxygen fuel. The study explores how the characteristics of detonation in methane-air fuel mixtures change under different initial conditions, such as fuel-air ratios and pre-detonation pressures. It identifies the optimal conditions for the methane-air fuel mixture and confirms the energy efficiency and structural superiority of the detonation engine by examining the influence of initial fuel pressure.
