Abstract

In linguistics, aspectual  properties of a verb phrase or  a sentence express a situation which has an inherernt endpoint in an internal structure of the situation. Verb phrases with inherent endpoints are called telic verb phrases and the situation of which telic verb phrase represent is leading to a telic situat ion. In contrast, verb phrases without an endpoint in an internal structure are considered to be atelic verb phrases and the related situation is atelic. This paper focuses on telicity and atelicity distinction
