DIFFERENCES IN CULTURAL ASPECTS OF SEMANTIC MEANING OF TWO WORDS "DRAGON" (龙) AND "DOG" (狗) OF VIETNAMESE -CHINESE - ENGLISH IN THE LANGUAGE
Abstract
A number of words for animals in Vietnamese, Chinese and English do not have the same semantic mappings. By comparing and analysing cultural aspects in meaning of such animals as dragon, dogs, and owls in these languages, we can understand differences in terms of culture, cognition regarding the meaning of animal words across cultures.Downloads
