THE IMPACT OF ENGLISH ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE STRATEGY FOR UPGRADING ENGLISH LEVEL IN VIET NAM

Abstract

This article introduces several studies and surveys about the relationship between a country’s  English proficiency and some components of its economy. It proves that English proficiency has an important impact on economic development.This article then looks at Vietnam Government’s stategy for improving the country’s English proficiency and offers some recommendations with the aim of effectively boosting the positive impacts of English on the economy.
