IDIOMS ON PARTS BODY IN TAY LANGUAGE (IN CONTRAST WITH VIETNAMESE IDIOMS)

Abstract

Body parts idioms are very popular in both Tay and Vietnamese language. We have conducted a research and have collected 478 body parts idioms in Tay language, in which 44 different body parts are mentioned and 954 Vietnamese idioms with 52 different body parts found. A contrast analysis of the body parts idioms in the two languages have successfully shown the similarities and differences between Tay and Vietnamese (Kinh) cultures.
