IDENTIFYING AND CLASSIFYING LINGUISIC ACTIONS SCOLDING IN VIETNAMESE

Abstract

Scolding is one of saying actions of humans. Like other linguistic actions: saying, telling, promising, complimenting, greeting, swearing, asking,…..scolding- scolding when action function also endures the domination from general factors of a linguistic action. However, the problem identifying and classifying this linguistic action is not really cared in research properly. Although there is likely a lot of research on scolding from different scales, the most is still from the view of culture. This paper will contribute to make clearer about these problems from the points of pragmatics, more specifically from the action theorylinguistic action.
