Abstract

    The study, surveying 100 first-year English majors on their difficulties in listening comprehension, found that apart fiom objective factors like English's luiguistic traits, the participants perceived to a great extent that their frequent breakdowns in listening comprehension aie caused by their Insufficient prior knowledge and cognitive problems identified by Gob (2000).
