Modality in apologies

Abstract

    Apologizing is a speech act which is an important strategy in social interaction. Apologizing is greatly affected by communal cultures, social relationships between the apologizer and apologizee. This writing aims to investigate the language of modality in apologies wich reveals the attitude of the  apologizer.
