Idioms with the word eyes and verbs related to eye movements in Vietnamese and English

Abstract

    Idioms constitute an important part in a language; therefore, it is necessary to understand and memorize idioms for better communication when learning a language. In any languages idioms related to eyes are various as eyes are a body part not only helping people sense the surroundings but also express emotions and thoughts, like the saying which describes eyes as 'the window to one's soul'. With a hope to help learners of English as well as Vietnamese to tmderstand and use idioms effectively, this article focuses on idioms with the word eyes and verbs related to eye movements.
