Metaphorical semantic change of sensory words in Vietnamese

Abstract

    Metaphorical semantic change is very popular type of semantic shift in all natural languages. Especially, according to cognitive linguistics, metaphor is not only a method of rhetoric, but also and mostiy a way of thinking. This article focuses on the metaphorical semantic change within the group of sensory words from the viewpoint of cognitive linguistics in the correlation with the rhetorical viewpoint specified earlier.
