Use of Lactuca indica L. Plant to Reduce Enrofloxacin Residue in Chicken due to Diarrhea Treatment

Abstract

A study was conducted to test the effect of Lactuca indica L. plant used at a concentration of 1%, 5%, or 10% with Enrofloxacin injection to treat chicken suffering from diarrhea. Their plasma, meat and liver were examined to determinethe antibiotic residues after treatment. Results showed that Lactuca indica L. plant was highly effective and should be used to reduce residue of the antibiotic for safer animal products. It also reduced the waiting time needed after antibiotic treatment. The experimental results also showed that Lactuca indica L. plant solution had the highest  effect at the concentration of 10% and should be used along with the antibiotic during and after diarrhea treatment
