Some Pathological Characteristics of The Pig Infected with Classical Swine Fever (CSF)
Abstract
The hog cholera (Classical Swine Fever - CSF) is a dangerous infectious disease that causes large damage to pig production. The present research was carried out in pigs infected with CSF during some different outbreaks. Results showed that the infected pigs had the typical clinical symptoms such as high fever, rheum, dyspnea, constipation and petechia on the skin of their feet and other areas of the body, nervous symptoms and paralysis of two posterior legs as well as abortion for the sows. The macroscopic lesions were hemorrhagic in lymph node of the mesenteric membrane, hydrothorax, ascites, hydropericardia at a very high rate, petechia in the kidney, infarcts in the spleen, congestion in the stomach and intestine, ulcers in the mouth, amygdale and large intestine and broncho-pneumonia. The microscopic lesions consisted of congestion, hemorrhagia, necrosis, degeneration, inflammatory infiltrations in the different organs: small and large intestines, lungs, liver, kidney, spleen, heart and brain. The research results provide the basis for diagnosing the disease and contributing to the understanding of CSF in VietnamDownloads
