Supporting Vietnam's electronics industry: opportunities and challenges in the context of integration

Abstract

The surge of "giant investors" has placed Vietnam's position becoming increasingly important in the supply chain of electronic components as well as in regional and global telephone products. With that in mind, experts predict that business opportunities will continue to be driven by manufacturers in the support industry if they grasp this opportunity. The electronics industry is still slowly developing. Among the few hundred electronics companies in operation, one out of four units is engaged in the manufacture of parts and components, most of which are enterprises with capital. Foreign investment, production for export mainly, localization rate of new products reached 20%. Overview of the industry supporting the electronics industry of Vietnam in the past, from which, identify the opportunities and challenges of the industry in the context of integration.
